✦Colton Carroll✦
Actor. SCHOLAR. EDUCATOR.
Colton Carroll is an emerging actor whose artistry has been shaped by a wide range of cultural and geographic influences, from the serene expanses of the Shenandoah Valley to the brooding heat of Texas, and even the vibrant, pulse of Seoul, South Korea. Now as a 2025 prospective graduate of James Madison University with a B.A in Theater and a Concentration in Performance, Colton Carroll is an actor to watch.
During his undergraduate studies, Colton cultivated a distinctive approach to the craft of acting as Empathetic Anthropology, The fundamental concept of socio-cultural, political and religious boundaries surrounding both living or non-living identities that grants them the ability to be seen, defined, and replicated for any reason humanity may see fit.
This framework permits him to engage with characters—whether contemporary, classical, or conceptual—through numerous lens that emphasize the multifaceted histories, and roles present within societal narratives.
In addition to his focus on the craft of acting, Colton is actively pursuing an Honors Project on the implications of AI on the evolving landscape of performance art in the digital age. His commitment to these inquiries fuel his drive to engage audiences with innovative, thought-provoking storytelling that challenges the conventions of a post-digital society.
Through his work, Colton crafts performances that are as intellectually provocative as they are emotionally resonant—offering a space where audiences can reflect on the intersection of technology, human agency and identity. His artistry is not just a reflection of his craft but a conscientious exploration of the world we inhabit, inviting viewers to consider the power of stories in a way that is as meta as they are memorable.
Beyond his personal artistic development, Colton lovingly dedicates his time to teaching. For the past two summers, he has served as an Acting Instructor/Assistant Director for hundreds of children at Onstage Ready in Austin, TX. This experience not only reflects his deep love for the theater, but also his commitment to nurturing community, creativity and inspiration in the next generation of artists. .
